Phuleswar Project

This project is situated in Phuleswar which is about 30 km. from Calcutta. The Chakraborty family of Phuleswar has donated a big plot of land with a pond, a building, ponds and several plots of agricultural land where we are running the following activities :-

  • Computer Training Centre :

    We have started a Computer Training Centre from May, 2009 and have constructed a block of two big rooms for the purpose. Presently there are 12 computers & 180 students are being trained in 6 shifts every day under guidance from 4 teachers.

  • Homoeopathic Centre :

    About 300 patients are treated every month.

  • Tutorial Home :

    Free coaching is provided to 6 students of Class V to Class X.

  • Bal Sanskar Kendra :

    16 Children are attending every day in this Kendra.

  • Physical Training Centre :

    Physical training is imparted and the facilities for various games are provided to the students of local villages.

  • Daily Seva-Puja of the deity Lord Narayan is performed and the Durga Puja is celebrated annually. During the Silver Jubilee year we distributed cloths to 100 needy persons. Cultural programmes during puja days are organized.

  • Sewing Training Center :

    We are running a sewing training Centre with 6 sewing machines providing training to 25 Ladies. This year we have constructed one big room for the purpose and have also added two more sewing machines.

  • Eye Care Center :

    Eye check-up Camps are organized periodically. Spectacles are distributed free of cost to needy and Cataract operations are also arranged for the patients treated here. 410 Patients were treated last year.

  • We planted 10 Teak, 30 Coconut, 100 Supari, 20 Bel and 340 other trees in 2008 and also 40 Teak, 150 Supari & 30 Coconut trees in August, 2009.
  • We constructed a twin Toilet & Bath Room Block for use on special occasions. We also installed one submersible pump and one overhead tank for use in the ashram.

    • Vocational Training Centre –for imparting training in Weaving, Knitting and Embroidery.
