Amta Project
Sri Chandi Charan Das of Amta has donated a land measuring 49.5 dec. situated on the bank of Damodar River on a portion of which a building was constructed. This year four more rooms were added, including one for care taker, as well as a shed for the guardians of the students. We have the following activities :-
School : We started a Saraswati Sishu Mandir on 14.04.95. Present strength is 284 students ( Morning – 158 and Day – 126 ) & 11 Teaching Staff with morning and day shifts and 4 Non-Teaching staff.
Medical Centre :
- Eye Care Centre – Every year Eye check-up camps are organized periodically.Spectacles are distributed free of cost to needy and cataract operations are also organized.The project is run with the help of Lions club of howrah.
- Homoeopathic Centre : We have one regular Homoeopathic clinic in school premises.
Vocational Training Centre: We are running a Sewing Training Centre with 4 sewing machines providing training to 30 Ladies.
Expansion : We have constructed a culvert and developed the approach road for the school. We also arranged one Kiln and made Bricks for constructing additional two rooms and toilets which are in progress.
Future Programme :
We plan to construct a Hall in future. One chakma bandhu who is expert in vipassana has devoted 2 years for us who will stay at the Ashram and will teach vipassana padthati to our students.
